ACTIVA surgió con el propósito de ser una muestra a través de las nuevas tendencias culturales y artísticas, utilizando el video digital como soporte y las redes sociales como medio de difusión. El encuentro presenta un programa transversal que muestra la complejidad del video arte en el tejido cultural, y tiene como objetivo dinamizar la agenda artístico cultural y su contexto con otras actividades como exposiciones, proyecciones y otros eventos.Se trata de un evento multidisciplinar que ofrece al público un gran número de contenidos en diversos campos y reserva, también, un espacio importante para la reflexión sobre los modelos contemporáneos de la gestión cultural, el pensamiento y el debate en los nuevos paradigmas de la creación contemporánea.
ACTIVA tiene su origen en el proyecto final de Máster en Arte Actual que Jaime Rodríguez investigó y defendió bajo la tutela y supervisión de Marti Manen en la Universidad de Barcelona. Esta propuesta se matarializó a partir del año 2011, inaugurándose por primera vez en la Galería TEXU de Oviedo. Posteriormente el evento fue ampliando sus fronteras a nivel nacional e internacional.
Jaime Rguez actúa como coordinador y director de todo el proceso, creando un fondo artístico a partir de la donación certificada y firmada de algunos de los artistas que han sido seleccionados cada año, formando parte de la colección ARTEALTER. Se trata principalmente de una colección de videoarte cuyo objetivo es crear un patrimonio artístico sin ánimo de lucro que no tiene precedente a nivel regional.

ACTIVA emerged with the purpose of being a sample through the new cultural and artistic trends, using digital video as a support and social networks as a means of emission. The meeting presents a transversal program that shows the complexity of video art in cultural interweaving, and aims to dynamize the cultural artistic program and its context with other activities such as exhibitions, screenings and other events.It is a multidisciplinary event that offers the public a large number of content in various scopes and reserves also an important space for reflection on contemporary models of cultural management, thought and discussion on new paradigms of contemporary creation.
ACTIVA has its origin from the final project of Master in Contemporary Art that Jaime Rodríguez achieve and defended under the tutelage and supervision of Marti Manen at the University of Barcelona. This proposal was matarialized from the year 2011, being inaugurated for the first time in TEXU Gallery of Oviedo. Later the event was expanding its borders at national and international level.
Jaime Rguez is the coordinator and director of the whole process, creating an artistic background from the certified and signed donation of some of the artists that have been selected each year, being part of the ARTEALTER collection. This is mainly a collection of video art whose the objective is be creating a non-profit artistic heritage which hasn't precedent at regional level.
